Before proceeding, read the below options carefully. Please select one of the five scenarios that best fit your student. Once determined follow the remaining steps on this page to submit course selections.

A) Submission to Designated Home School: Your child is considering one possible secondary school option, and it is their designated home secondary school. Please review the course selections, and, once you have approved them, indicate so by clicking the 'approve' option on the course selection approval email.

B) Emphasis Technology School: Your child is interested in attending an Emphasis Technology program in secondary school. You have received course selections for this secondary school. Please review the course selections, and once you have approved them, indicate so by clicking the 'approve' option on the course selection approval email. Additionally, you must obtain a Tech Emphasis Intent form from the secondary school website, complete it, and return it to the Secondary School.

C) French Immersion School: Your child is interested in attending a French Immersion program in Secondary School. You have received course selections for this Secondary School. Please review the course selections, and once you have approved them, indicate so by clicking the 'approve' option on the course selection approval email.

D) 'Out-of-Board' Secondary School: Your child is to attend an Out-of-Board School. Please complete a course selection for your home school as a backup and notify your Elementary Guidance Lead of the Out-of-Board school choice.

E) 'Out-of-Area' Secondary School: Your child is considering at least one Out-of-Area Secondary School. You have received an email with course selections for your child's home school, as well as for any Out-of-Area Secondary school. Please contact the Out-of-Area secondary school(s) to obtain an application package. Once you have received decisions regarding acceptance, and you have determined which school your child will be attending, please review the course selections, and once you have approved them, indicate so by clicking the 'approve' option on the course selection approval email for the Secondary school you have chosen no later than February 10th, 2023. Note: Only for the Secondary School you have chosen. You are responsible for obtaining and completing the Out-of-Area package and submitting this to the Secondary School before February 2nd, 2023 in order for your child's application to be considered.

Please note if your student is planning to not attend their designated home school, Emphasis Technology, or French Immersion School, and is selecting Scenario (E) you will need to create a high school plan for their home school and each out-of-area school they are applying to.

Note: It is important to note that approving a course selection scenario indicates your intent to register your child in Grade 9 at the school, AND, that you approve their choices. If your child has completed multiple high school course selection plans (scenario E), please wait until you have received decisions regarding acceptance, and have determined which school your child will be attending. Once you have made the decision, only approve course selections for ONE school, indicating which secondary school you want your child to attend. The parent/guardian must approve the one-course selection of the school their child is attending by February 10th, 2023 in order to complete the course selection and pre-registration process.

If you have questions please contact your Elementary Guidance Lead.
