GOAL SETTING
Goal setting as checklist to keep track of progress
Create a goal to be more involved with your community
Add three tasks to help you achieve your goal, consider:
Add your goal to your portfolio. (Click the at the top right of your goal, and click Add to Portfolio).

Community Participation
Share about an experience participating in a community event/organization. Post a photo or video to your portfolio: Consider the following reflection prompts:). +Add Box > Add Journal > Title: Journal #2. Write 3-5 sentences using the following prompts:
Need concrete examples - structure on questions
Where would you like to volunteer?

Pro Tip:
Use the +Add Box > Add Media option to upload pictures or documents to showcase your learning!

Workplace Portfolio
Use your community portfolio to document and share your experiences and skill development.
In your Education Planner Account go to Home > Portfolios > +Add Portfolio, Title: Workplace
OCCUPATION
Add an occupation to your Volunteering Portfolio* that relates to your volunteering opportunity. Include a reflection.
Reflection prompt ideas:
How does this occupation relate to your volunteering experience? List three skills needed to excel in the occupation and that you could develop during your time volunteering.
Money - concepts and budget
Add a journal entry with 5 potential hazards related to co-op that can occur in the workplace. Add a reflection answering the following question: How can you identify potential hazards in the workplace?
Read the Mental Health Guide and write a journal entry titled “School/Work/Life Balance” answering the following question: What can you do to reduce stress in your life? List three (3) strategies

Workplace Portfolio
Use your community portfolio to document and share your experiences and skill development.
RESUME
Create your myBlueprint resume (left-hand navigation menu > Work > Resume) and add it to your portfolio. Be sure to add your volunteer opportunity and the new skills you developed.
TIP:
Add the individual skills to your portfolio and reflect on the following questions: How did you develop these skills? How will you use these newly developed skills in a future occupation?
*To add Skills, go to your Volunteering Portfolio > Add Box > Add from myBlueprint > Resume > Add any 'Skills & Abilities' boxes
COVER LETTER
Create your myBlueprint cover letter (left-hand navigation menu > Work > Cover Letter), customized for a future volunteer or job opportunity related to this volunteering experience. Add it to your portfolio.
Questions to consider:
Why are you a strong candidate? What interested you the most about the volunteer opportuity you chose? What are some of your relevant skills or past experiences that will help you in a future position?

Sharing your experience
Portfolios are made for sharing! Once you have made additions to your portfolio, follow these steps to share with others:
Easily create a presentation of your portfolio
Create a sharable link to share
with teachers
and family

Once you have created a sharable link, you can send the link through email to teachers and family.

Create Family/Advisor Access
It is the perfect time to set your family up with access to Education Planner. It is great to have family input for course selections and career/life planning.
There are two ways to create family accounts:
Through the student account, Add family
email:
From the main login page, create a family
account
From your student account, select "My Links" from the account settings menu. Click "add link" and enter your family member/advisor's email


Visit myBlueprint.ca/GEDSB and select "Sign-Up" click the school from the drop-down menu and select "Family/Advisor".
